The first 5G networks became operational in 2019, but the first significant growth was expected in 2020. Eventually, more companies were ready to join the segment with new 5G chipsets and new smartphones ready for the new network standard. Of course, the pandemic that started last year was not planned by anyone. It ravaged the market for several years, but luckily it couldn't prevent 5G from spreading. Interestingly, the new world of COVID-19 has shown how the expansion of 5G will be vital to the adoption of new technologies. With a wave of 5G-capable smartphones at various price points, 5G is truly catching on. Interestingly, it looks like the market will be flooded with 5G smartphones in just a few years. Ericson, a leading company in the field of XNUMXG network business, and how it is now a phenomenon.

During the "5G Evolution Summit" held during MWC 2021 in Shanghai, Penj Huangjiang, general manager of Ericsson's Northeast Asia Research Center, participated and gave a speech. He said:

“As of January 2021, there were 123 commercial 5G networks worldwide, and there are already 335 commercial 5G terminals. The speed of commercialization of 5G is also beyond imagination. The total number of global 5G users exceeded 200 million in just one year. This growth rate is far beyond the beginning of 4G popularization. It is estimated that 2026G users will reach 5 billion by 3,5.”

In addition to this performance, Ericsson predicts that 5G will account for 54% of total mobile data by 2026. This year will certainly be another important year for the expansion of 5G. We now have low-end 5G-capable chipsets. By the end of the year, we expect many cost-effective 5G smartphones of various brands to appear on the market.

Talking about the changing trend of mobile traffic, Huanjiang says that the current global mobile data traffic is about 51EB (Exabyte = 1024 Petabytes = 1048,576 TeraBytes). By 2026, this amount will reach 226 EU. This is an increase of about 5 times. This means that the load and network needs will continue to grow.

Video traffic currently accounts for 66% of total mobile traffic. Ericsson believes that this share will increase to 77% by 2026. In addition, some differences between the requirements for video on the network and other traditional services increase the high level of development of 5G. According to the executive director, 5G's high bandwidth and low latency is suitable for time-sensitive types of services. It includes real-time media services, especially cloud games that require high interaction and remote control hardware.

I have always been interested in IT technologies. And since my previous many years of professional activity (which is design and pre-press preparation) is not possible without their help, it so happened that everything that was related to computers (for example, collecting and modernizing "hardware", as well as configuring software ) I always had to do it myself.

Well, with the advent of gadgets in our lives, the scope of my interests expanded to include them as well.

I like to study and analyze the capabilities of various devices, and for many years, before buying anything new, I always study the capabilities of each potential model for a long time and carefully, spend quite a long and painstaking work, read reviews, reviews and comparisons.

The reward for my time is usually that most of the time I really do get the best of what I can get within my budget.
