It looks like Samsung is on the mend and will continue to do so for the next few days. Ever since the One UI 3.1 software update was announced for the Galaxy line of devices, the South Korean giant has been pushing hard to update more and more devices. Earlier today, the Galaxy Note 10 lineup started receiving updates in Germany, and it looks like two more devices have joined the suit. We are talking about the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy S10 series.
Galaxy Fold, Galaxy S10 get One UI 3.1 software update
One software UI 3.1 has already made its way to all foldable devices. Well, except for the Galaxy Fold, and that's changing now. After the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip (5G), Samsung started rolling out a new update to the original Fold in France. The new firmware update contains version F900FXXU4EUBF. As expected, the update also brings the latest March 2021 Android security patch.
Surprisingly, Samsung has also started pushing software updates to the Galaxy S10 series in Europe (Switzerland in particular). It's worth noting that only the Galaxy S10+ seems to be getting the new update. We expect the remaining brothers and sisters to join the lawsuit soon. For the Galaxy S10, the update contains firmware version G97xFXXU9FUBD. Although there is no confirmation, we also expect the March security patch for Android.
If you own either device (Galaxy Fold and Galaxy S10 series) and live in the respective location mentioned, then you should have already received the update notification. For those who haven't done so for some reason, you can perform a manual check using the Software Update option in the Settings app. Don't forget to click the Download and Install option inside. As this is a major software update, we recommend using a stable Wi-Fi connection.
More devices are coming soon
It looks like Samsung has almost finished all its flagship smartphones for the One UI 3.1 software. Whenever this happens, the company will move toward the mid-rangers on the roster. We are talking about the devices mentioned below.
- Galaxy A71, A52
- Galaxy A90, A80, A70 and A50
Since we're on the subject of software, it's worth noting that Samsung has now updated its security update policy for its various Galaxy devices. Under the new development, the company will provide four years of software updates for Galaxy devices.
