The Samsung 65W charger has been certified by TUV SUD

Over the past two years, smartphone manufacturers have made great efforts to develop reliable fast charging solutions that can reach the end consumer. Currently, Chinese brands such as BBK Group (Oppo, Realme, OnePlus, Vivo) are leading the market alongside Xiaomi.

Other companies like Samsung are lagging behind, but that will soon change. Samsung's new 65W charger has just been certified by Germany's TUV SUD.

The Samsung Power Powerver 65W charger has the model number EP-TA865 and is already certified in South Korea. Now, thanks to the new certification, we know that it supports a programmable power supply and can charge devices at up to 20V and 3,25A, which effectively means 65W of power.

Unfortunately, we do not know when this charger will reach the end consumer. We don't even know what device will be able to use this powerful charger. It can be both a new Galaxy smartphone and a laptop. The recently released Galaxy S21 series supports fast charging up to 25W.

It's really limited compared to Chinese smartphones. For a quick comparison, Xiaomi has plenty of mid-range phones with 33W charging speeds. Realme, on the other hand, has mid-range phones with 65W fast charging.

The most interesting fact is that Samsung already has a 45W charging adapter that sits there and does nothing.

Samsung is taking a while to enter the fast charging race

It is not clear why the company is spending so much time to create a real fast charger for its smartphones. Even some of its mid-range phones lag behind the competition with only 15W charging. Most mid-range phones on the market today have at least 18W charging.

For this reason, we don't expect to see a new smartphone with Samsung's 65W charger anytime soon. Of course, a possible Galaxy Note 21 Ultra would be the most likely choice. We also have the Galaxy Z Fold3 coming this fall, so that's another possibility.

While the mentioned devices may be the first Samsung phones to come with a 65W charger, that doesn't mean a charging brick will be included in the box. After mocking Apple for removing the charging brick in the iPhone 12 series, the Korean firm has decided to continue with its Galaxy S21 series.

Unfortunately, this seems to be the trend now. We don't think Samsung's 65W charger will be bundled with the upcoming smartphone, it will mostly be available separately.

I have always been interested in IT technologies. And since my previous many years of professional activity (which is design and pre-press preparation) is not possible without their help, it so happened that everything that was related to computers (for example, collecting and modernizing "hardware", as well as configuring software ) I always had to do it myself.

Well, with the advent of gadgets in our lives, the scope of my interests expanded to include them as well.

I like to study and analyze the capabilities of various devices, and for many years, before buying anything new, I always study the capabilities of each potential model for a long time and carefully, spend quite a long and painstaking work, read reviews, reviews and comparisons.

The reward for my time is usually that most of the time I really do get the best of what I can get within my budget.
