LG may consider exiting the smartphone business. However, the company still operates in many other segments and sets sales records every quarter. Now LG Electronics has announced a partnership with US chipmaker Qualcomm Technologies Inc to develop 5G automotive platforms. According to an LG executive, this is a strategic move by LG as it seeks to expand into emerging automotive technology markets.

LG and Qualcomm Technologies are leaders in mobile innovation, according to Park Jeong-san, vice president of LG Electronics. Both companies will bring their years of research and development experience to the automotive industry. However, most attention will be paid to the development of advanced 5G automotive platforms.

LG and Qualcomm have a long history of partnership

Back in 2004, Qualcomm and LG worked together on the development of telematics technologies. In 2017, the duo signed a cooperation agreement in the field of solutions for connected cars. In addition, in 2019, LG and Qualcomm agreed to strengthen the car infotainment system LG webOS Auto. Based on this latest partnership, we can say that companies are just getting back to work as they move into the 5G era.

The Korean company is currently building strategic plans to strengthen its position in the automotive solutions segment. It's part of a broader strategy that's paying off well for LG. As already mentioned, the company is reaping good results in all its segments except the smartphone market. Back in December of last year, the Korean firm signed a partnership agreement with the Canadian auto parts manufacturer Maga International Inc. The duo will supply electric vehicles and auto parts.

I have always been interested in IT technologies. And since my previous many years of professional activity (which is design and pre-press preparation) is not possible without their help, it so happened that everything that was related to computers (for example, collecting and modernizing "hardware", as well as configuring software ) I always had to do it myself.

Well, with the advent of gadgets in our lives, the scope of my interests expanded to include them as well.

I like to study and analyze the capabilities of various devices, and for many years, before buying anything new, I always study the capabilities of each potential model for a long time and carefully, spend quite a long and painstaking work, read reviews, reviews and comparisons.

The reward for my time is usually that most of the time I really do get the best of what I can get within my budget.
