TOP-4 smartphones on Snapdragon 888 for the battle with Xiaomi Mi 11

2020 is a special year for Xiaomi. The company successfully entered the flagship market for the first time. Many people know the Xiaomi Mi 10 series as a flagship phone with a worthy flagship price. Xiaomi is now ready to meet the challenges of the new year.

Not long ago, Qualcomm officially launched its latest flagship 5nm chip, the Snapdragon 888. Subsequently, Xiaomi announced that the Xiaomi Mi 11 series will be the world's first series to use this chip. However, Snapdragon 888 smartphones will be more than enough in 2021.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 series won't be the only Android flagship in 2021 to use this chip. Although the Xiaomi Mi 11 series will have an exclusive period for the Snapdragon 888, other manufacturers will also release new phones with the chip in the first quarter of next year.

Obviously, these phones will compete with the Xiaomi Mi 11 series. So, what models can we expect?

Realme race

Realme seems to have scheduled a meeting with Xiaomi. On the same day as Xiaomi's official announcement, Realme will also reveal the launch of its new Snapdragon 888 flagship phone. According to keen observers, Realme's announcement came two minutes after Xiaomi's announcement. Of course, this is not a simple coincidence.

Be it Xiaomi Mi 11 or Realme Race, they are all new flagship phones with Snapdragon 888. This move means that two new flagship phones will have to face off.

Although Xu Qi did not reveal more information about the new model, a lot of news has appeared on the Internet. As far as we know, the Realme Race will use an element splice design similar to the OnePlus Concept One. The Realme brand logo will be in the upper right corner, and the matrix solution with three cameras will be placed in the upper left corner. According to available data, the main camera of this device is 64 MP.

Also, we expect the Realme Race to come with 125W charging. Apart from that, this smartphone will also launch a detailed version under the ACG brand.

Honor V40

According to recent reports, the Honor V40 series may have a 300Hz touchscreen sample rate. This exceeds 270 Hz, which is the highest for Chinese smartphones.

Earlier images of the device show it to have a waterfall design with dual perforations for the cameras. The camera module on the back has a circular shape, similar to a mechanical dial. The design was inspired by the classic four-point dial of the famous watch, and the flash is located in the center of the four lenses. On the left side of the camera module we see the words “Matrix Camera Asphlens”.

According to the 3C certification, the Honor V40 (YOK-AN10) will use a 66W charging adapter and support 45W fast wireless charging.

It is not yet clear what the Honor V40 processor will be. However, there are good reasons to believe that one of the Honor V40 series will use the Snapdragon 888 SoC. There are also reports that since Honor is now independent and will not be using Kirin chips, it may also add the Dimensity 1000+ to its supply chain. If Honor only uses Dimensity 1000+ for this phone, it will be below the Xiaomi Mi 11 series. However, given Honor's performance in the Chinese market, it will give Xiaomi a good run for its money.

Oppo find x3

Oppo is another manufacturer that will surely use the Snapdragon 888 SoC. The company will use this new flagship chip for its upcoming Oppo Find X3 series. According to Oppo, this flagship will become official in the first quarter of the year.

Recent reports suggest that the Find X3 series will feature a 6,7-inch 3K QHD display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. This display also supports adaptive refresh rate and 10-bit color depth. As for the cameras, the rear matrix camera module of the Find X3 series has built-in dual main cameras and a conventional secondary lens. It uses the same 50MP Sony IMX766 image sensor as the OPPO Reno 5 Pro +.

In addition, the standard version of the Find X3 series will use a 4500mAh battery, while the Pro version will support 125W fast wired charging and 65W fast wireless charging. It is worth noting that the wireless charging of the Find X3 series supports the WLC protocol. This technology allows you to charge devices that do not support wireless charging, but have NFC. However, the charging power is very low.

The latest leak shows that the front of the OPPO Find X3 Pro matches the Find X2 Pro. At the back there is a solution with four cameras. The appearance of the camera module is somewhat reminiscent of the iPhone 12 Pro. It has a rounded square design, but the lens arrangement is the exact opposite.

Judging only by the paper parameters, the equipment of the OPPO Find X3 series is quite sufficient. Obviously, it will have a direct problem with the Xiaomi Mi 11 series.

IQOO 7

In recent years, iQOO has won the hearts of many users with its ultra-high configuration and economy. On December 19th, the official Weibo of iQOO mobile phone announced that it will release its latest flagship series iQOO 7 in January next year.

More excitingly, the iQOO7 series will collaborate with BMW to launch a deeply customized model.

From the live video, we learned that the iQOO7 uses a Samsung AMOLED screen, supports a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz.

Although it is still unclear what the model of the iQOO7's main camera is, there are reports that it could be an IMX598 sensor with a 48-megapixel sensor. In addition, the device will support 120W fast wired charging.

Under the hood, it will have a Snapdragon 888 processor. The performance of the iQOO 7 series in China cannot be underestimated. So, it can be one of the main competitors of the Xiaomi 11 series.

Visnovok

Despite the exclusivity of the Snapdragon 888 SoC for the Xiaomi Mi 11 series, it is clear that it will face competition. After the end of the exclusive period, at least two Snapdragon 888 smartphones will enter the market. However, everything will come down to what the phones can offer.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 series is already at a disadvantage due to the lack of a charger. However, it is said that there will be improvements to the screen, battery, charging, camera and software. Whether this will be enough for the Mi 11 series to capture the market remains to be seen.
