Microsoft Edge has started support for syncing history and tabs

After months of waiting, Microsoft is finally rolling out the tab and history synchronization feature for users of the stable version of the Edge browser.

Until now, the new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser synchronized passwords and bookmarks, and also allowed sending open websites from a mobile device to a computer. However, the new Microsoft Edge lacked features familiar to Chrome users, such as synchronization of history and tabs. In December, they began testing the synchronization of history and tabs in the beta version of the browser.

The change is done server-side, so users don't need to take any action to get the new feature.

The function must be activated on all devices where synchronization is required. The new settings are available for both Windows computers and mobile devices.

When a browser uses a lot of RAM, it slows down the entire operating system. Accordingly, to avoid this, users should limit the number of open tabs; but browser developers can slightly improve memory usage, as in the case of Microsoft Edge.

Edge recently switched to the Chromium engine and became faster. And after the release of the major functional update Windows 10 May 2020 Update, the browser has become even more economical in terms of RAM. Its use dropped to 27%. True, Microsoft explains that "performance on individual devices depends on configuration and use", but in general, everyone should feel Edge's more frugal attitude towards memory.
