Xiaomi held a big event in China where the company unveiled the much-awaited Redmi Note 9 series consisting of Redmi Note 9 5G, Note 9 Pro 5G and Note 9 4G. Along with new smartphones, the company surprised us with Redmi watches. The device has just been released in China, but we don't think it will remain an exclusive for much longer. The device has passed Bluetooth SIG certification along with the Mi Watch Lite. This suggests that a global launch is closer than we thought.

The leak came from Mukul Sharma, a trusted insider. The Bluetooth SIG database listing shows two models. The first is REDMIWT01, and the other is REDMIT02. Both products are similar and used by Xiaomi Inc. The description of both models shows that they are smart watches. Moreover, the list includes the possibility of Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, which is definitely a plus. Unfortunately, Bluetooth SIG is all about Bluetooth code names and availability. Redmi Watch specifications are no longer a mystery thanks to the launch in China. The Mi Watch Lite could be a similar product or even a rebranded Redmi Watch for different markets.

According to speculations, the Redmi Watch is likely to reach Asian countries such as India, while the same device may arrive in Europe under the Mi Watch Lite name. Now this is just a guess.

Features of Mi Watch Lite / Redmi watches

Thanks to information from the FCC listing, we know what to expect from the Mi Watch Lite. The device is equipped with a square screen with a 2.5D curved effect. The case has a matte finish. Apparently, it comes with removable TPU material straps. The watch also has a dial with rounded corners on the right side.

The new smartwatch will come in multiple colors just like the Chinese Redmi variant. Initial colors include Black, Cherry Pink, Needle Green, Blue Ink, and Ivory. The Redmi Watch / Mi Watch Lite comes with a 1,4-inch display with a resolution of 323 pixels per inch. Among the features, users can expect auto-brightness and a 230mAh battery that charges via 5W charging.

Among the smart features, you can expect the usual set of health tracking features. The watch has 24-hour heart rate tracking, sleep tracking and sedentary lifestyle monitoring.

Xiaomi still has December to launch new smartwatches in Europe. However, it can be released only next year due to the second wave of COVID-19, which has affected European countries.

The Redmi Watch is sold in China for 299 yuan ($45,47). We expect a similar price in international markets.
